The capital Tashkent will for the second time host the National Scientific and Educational Forum aimed at improving the quality of scientific research and publication activity in Uzbekistan. During the event the acquaintance of the scientific community with the world’s sources of scientific and educational information and opportunities of publications in top international journals will be on the focus.
The forum will be conducted in late February. Organizers are the National Library of Uzbekistan and the Committee for Coordination of Science and Technology, who invited representatives of leading foreign publishers and aggregators of information for conducting presentations and workshops for doctoral students, researchers and professionals of information-library institutions to participate in the event. However, the heads of ministries and departments, universities, scientific and research centers of the Academy of Sciences, academicians of the Academy of Sciences, vice-rectors on science and department heads of high education institutions, directors and leading specialists of information and library institutions, professors, doctoral students and candidates for academic degrees will be the main participants.
The forum will focus on such issues as the organization of public access of scientific and educational institutions in the analytical database of the Web of Science, EBSCO information services resources for 2017. It is planned to discuss in detail the results of the use of the world’s scientific and educational resources by educational and research institutions of Uzbekistan in 2016 and their influence on the publication activity and realization of scientific researches in the country. Challenges and solutions of increasing the efficiency and quality of scientific publications, research projects and doctoral theses will be in the limelight.
In addition, in course of the forum it is scheduled the awarding ceremony of prominent scientists of Uzbekistan who made a great contribution to the advancement of science and education. The forum will announce the results of the analysis of the use of world information resources by the universities and research centers of the republic, the efficiency of the organization of scientific activity and improving the ranking of higher education and research institutions.
