Participants and winners of the 13th Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science have returned to Tashkent. The solemn ceremony was prepared at the international airport of the capital to meet them.
According to the Center of Secondary Special, Professional Education, at the 13th Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science Uzbekistan was represented by seven students at the academic lyceums of the country, and three of them showed good results worthy of medals.
Two medalists are from academic lyceum №3 at the Bukhara State University, which is located in Karakul district of Bukhara region and is famous for strong tradition of teaching mathematics and physics, and which trained several dozen winners of international competitions in these disciplines: Abdumalik Abdukayumov won silver medal in mathematics and Sirojiddin Nurmanov grabbed bronze in physics.
“Our Karakul school won the recognition more than 20 years ago. Over these years, we have prepared a few dozen students who were awarded prizes at the competitions. But, as you know, this school was originally a specialized school with the profound studying of disciplines. Four years ago, next to it our academic lyceum was built, and I was instructed to raise this education institution. Today, the school and lyceum are working in close cooperation,” said the headmaster of the Lyceum Tukhtamurod Jumayev. “First there was a period of formation, and since last year the students of the lyceum began to show good results in international competitions. This allows us to say that we do have the experience to ensure the work of the academic lyceum at the required level.”
The academic lyceum №2 at the Tashkent University of Information Technology is only five years old. However, it has already been recognized as the strong education institution. In the last year a student of this lyceum won the republican subject competition, and this year its student Temirbek Khujakulov took the second place in the Zhautykov Olympiad among his peers in computer science.
