On August 9, during his stay in Astana, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The issues of further strengthening the friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were discussed.
The fruitful results of the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council and the Turkmen products exhibition held in July of this year in Tashkent were noted with satisfaction.
Particular attention was paid to increasing the volume of mutual trade and promoting cooperation projects in priority economic sectors, including industry, energy, agriculture, and transport.
The importance of expanding interregional ties and intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchange programs was emphasized.
Views were also exchanged on regional issues.
