A joint meeting of the Committees of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on Combating Corruption and Judicial Legal Issues and on Democratic Institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations and Civil Society Institutions has taken place.
Issues of reflecting proposals and opinions in the Draft Constitutional Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, submitted for public discussion, were discussed. The speakers noted that the nationwide discussion of the Draft Constitutional Law is in full swing.
To date, more than 65,000 proposals have been received from citizens and civil society institutions on the Draft Constitutional Law, which indicates that our people feel involved in the large-scale transformations being carried out in the country, and strives to be an active participant in them, and support constitutional reforms.
Citizens’ proposals were constantly considered and analyzed by members of the responsible committees, the working group on working with proposals and the consolidated information and analytical group at the Constitutional Commission.
Following the event, the committees identified priority tasks for improving the Draft Constitutional Law.
