On May 4-5, 2023, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited India to attend the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
At the ministerial meeting, the parties exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation within the SCO, joint efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region, regional and international issues.
They considered organizational and substantive aspects of preparation for the upcoming meeting of Council of Heads of SCO member states. The Ministers approved the draft agenda and documents proposed for signing during the upcoming Delhi Summit in July 2023.
During the visit, the head of the Uzbekistan delegation also held talks with the Foreign Minister of India Dr. Subramanyam Jaishankar, discussing prospects of expanding Uzbekistan-India cooperation in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas and interregional relations.
