A play entitled “Tests of fate” has been shown in Khorazm. This play was performed by the staff of the Uzbek national academic drama theatre. Theatre enthusiasts of the region found it very impressive.
A well-known dramatist, Qochqor Norqobil, wrote this play. It depicts the Afghan war of 1979-1989 (the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and ensuing war), its consequences and Uzbek families affected by the war.
“I watched this play and was deeply moved. Erkin Komilov, people’s artiste of Uzbekistan, played the role of elder Jayronqul very skilfully. It brought tears to our eyes. Such plays are important as they give people food for thought,” says Nigora Hojayeva, the chief of a department of the Urganch branch of the Tashkent medical academy.
