On June 28, 2018, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed the Resolution on establishment of “Silk Road” International Tourism University.
The resolution has been adopted to practically implement the initiative of the country on organizing a system of training professional personnel and carrying out scientific research and creative work in the field of international tourism, further development of historical and cultural-humanitarian ties of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Education in the University will be conducted in Uzbek, Russian and English languages, two foreign languages to be taught in the bachelor’s program: the first one is English (French, German), the second is one of the official languages of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Russian, Chinese), taking into account the requirements of state educational standards of the Republic Uzbekistan.
The quota for admission to the University for 2018/2019 academic year will be approved in the number of 125 people, including 42 people on state grants.
Starting from 2019/2020 academic year, applicants with certificates of leading, recognized international examination systems (TOEFL, IELTS, CEFR, SAT General, SAT Subject and others) to be given a maximum score on relevant subjects in the established order, with subsequent exemption from tests in these subjects.
