President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, in Beijing.

The heads of state noted with deep satisfaction the positive dynamics of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan multifaceted cooperation that in recent years reached a qualitatively new level.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon discussed specific issues of cooperation in trade-economic, transport-communications, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Special attention was paid to boosting the bilateral trade. The sides also reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during visits at the highest level.
It was emphasized that last year was historic in development of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan relations, which, thanks to reciprocal state visits, rose to the level of strategic partnership.
The parties noted that as a result of the measures undertaken, the trade turnover has grown markedly, interregional and humanitarian ties are becoming increasingly stronger.
The heads of state expressed their determination to further develop friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two countries.
