On April 24, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is in Uzbekistan on a state visit, arrived in Khorezm region.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met the highest-ranking guest at Urgench International Airport.
Khorezm region conducted great preparation for this visit. Streets of cities and districts are decorated with national flags of the two countries, greetings in Uzbek and Turkmen languages.
The President of Turkmenistan will visit the Uzbek-Turkmen Friendship House in Urgench district and take part in the opening ceremony of the bust of the great poet of Turkmen people Makhtumkuli Faraghi. He will also visit the holy place on this territory – “Ulli Hovli”, the ancient fortress “Ichan kal’a” in the city of Khiva, the historical place of worship Nurillabay.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will also participate in a concert of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan art masters to be held in Khorezm Regional Drama Theater.
