Khan-Atlas Week in Uzbekistan

On the initiative of the Family and Women’s Committee, cultural events are being held across the country from September 9 to 14 this year as part of the Khan-Atlas Week.

The event is a celebration of the centuries-old culture of the Uzbek people, their customs and traditions, and the unique aesthetics of our costumes. It is also a platform to empower women in promoting our national values and enhancing their style of clothing.

Of great importance is the vast propaganda of clothing that combines national identity and modernity, local flavor and artistic aspects, instilling in the younger generation a sense of national pride, the formation of universal rules of ethics, generally recognized principles of taste, and aesthetic views.

The technology of making Uzbek national silk fabrics – atlas and adras – was included in the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The week serves to develop the art of design and the national industry, to train young personnel for the industry, and to discuss achievements, shortcomings, and problems in areas related to the promotion and sale of clothing.

The week will include many events.
