A meeting devoted to the International forum of maqom art to be held on September 6-10 in Shakhrisabz was held at the Center of Uzbek National Maqom Art. It was noted that the goal of the forthcoming forum, which is initiated by the Head of the state, is further development of the national art of maqom, creation of conditions for creative people to exchange opinions and experience.
Members of the commission objectively and in accordance with the requirements of the forum provision selected the best work samples of maqom vocalists and ensembles of foreign countries.
According to members of the commission, by now representatives of more than 60 countries have expressed a desire to participate in the forum.
