Kuala Lumpur hosted a solemn reception on the occasion 24th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Prominent public and political figures, representatives of ministries and agencies, business and scientific circles of the country, diplomatic corps and media took part in this event, organized by the Embassy of our country in Malaysia.
Deputy Minister of home affairs Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed made a statement as a main guest on behalf of government, who noted that Malaysia attaches the great importance to the expansion of relations with Uzbekistan. Our countries support each other and effectively interact with such international organizations as the UN, OIC and others.
Participants of reception, congratulating the Uzbek people on independence, underlined the effectiveness of implementing reforms in the socio-political, socio-economical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
In particular, Vice-rector of Lincoln University College Datuk Bibi Florina Abdullah stated:
– Today the country’s progress is very impressing. The state attained to great success in many spheres under the leadership of President Islam Karimov. Science and education occupies a special place among them.
I am very impressed by the case that Uzbekistan step forward with confidence and does not stop in achievement. Taking this opportunity, I want to congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day and wish all the best, happiness and prosperity.
Max Say, Vice president of the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute:
– During a short period, your country has reached significant results in different areas. In the course of visit to the republic, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with the reforms implemented in the education sector, the activities of higher education institutions, academic lyceums and professional colleges. Manifesting in Uzbekistan concern for the upbringing of the younger generation as “citizens of the world” is worth of attention.
Let me congratulate the Uzbek people with a 24th anniversary of independence. I wish people further prosperity and success in all their undertakings.
