HIGH RESULTS OF OUR JUDOKAS AT “TASHKENT GRAND PRIX – 2016”

Members of the Uzbekistan National Judo team has won 6 gold, 3 silver, 11 bronze medals and took first place in the team event at the International Judo Tournament “Tashkent Grand Prix – 2016”, held at the sports complex “Uzbekistan”.

At the prestigious competition, organized for the fourth time by the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan, the International Judo Federation (IJF), together with a number of ministries and organizations, 135 sportsmen from nearly twenty countries compete for the victory in fourteen weight categories.

As a result of the high attention, given by the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to development of sports, the Uzbek judo school has taken a leading position in the world. Judokas of our country successfully participate and win at the Olympic and Asian Games, in continental and world championships, major international competitions.

In the competition among judokas in weight category up to 60 kg – Muhriddin Tilovov defeated Sayan Khertek from Russia, Otar Bestaev from Kyrgyzstan, Baurjan Zhauntaev from Kazakhstan, Matias Trbovich from Slovenia, and rose to the highest step of the podium. Sharofiddin Lutfullaev in this weight category took third place.

In the weight category up to 73 kg, our judokas Mirzohid Farmonov and Giyosjon Boboev faced each other in the final. Before the final Mirzohid won over Mushfik Yusubov from Azerbaijan, Martin Hojak from Slovenia and Vali Kurzhev from Russia, and Giyoszhon won Eldos Jumakanov from Kazakhstan and Khidoyat Khaidarov from Azerbaijan. In the final, Mirzohid Farmanov won over Giyosjon Boboev. Muso Sobirov in this weight category was awarded a bronze medal.

In the weight category up to 81 kg, Davlat Bobonov defeated Ernazar Hamzin from Kazakhstan, Vladimir Zoloev from Kyrgyzstan, Rufat Ismailov from Azerbaijan and Hayato Watanabe from Japan, and won the tournament.

In the weight category up to 90 kg, Yahyo Imomov won the gold medal, Davronbek Sattorov – silver, and Muhammadkarim Hurramov took bronze.

In the weight category up to 100 kg, Soyib Kurbonov was the strongest. Erkin Doniyorov took the third place. Among judokas in weight category up to 100 kg Boltaboy Boltaev awarded a bronze medal.

In the competition among female judokas in weight category up to 70 kg Gulnoza Matniyozova defeated all rivals and rose to the highest step of the podium. Diyora Keldiyorova won a silver medal, Nodira Gulomova, Mukaddas Kubeeva, Guloyim Djumaboeva, Sanobar Sultonova, Kumush Yuldosheva and Rahim Yuldosheva won bronze medals.
