Digitalization: Uzbekistan climbs up in international rankings

International rankings play an important role in raising the country’s prestige in the world, strengthening its positions and ensuring transparency.

In the international ranking of 2022, Uzbekistan’s role in digitalization has noticeably increased. In accordance with the World Bank’s GovTech Enablers Index, the country has climbed 65 steps in digital skills and innovation in public services compared to 2020.

According to the results of the GovTech Maturity Index, in the sector of government and public services, the country has risen by 37 levels, among 198 countries it is in group “A” of leaders in digital transformation.

According to the results of the E-Government Development Index, this year Uzbekistan has risen by 18 positions and has become one of the “highly/very highly developing” countries.

In the Oxford Insights analysis of the 2022 Government AI Readiness Index, Uzbekistan has risen 14 steps among 160 countries.

According to the 2022 Open Data Inception, among 201 countries, according to open data sources and their number, Uzbekistan ranked 4th with 124 open data sources. In 2021, Uzbekistan ranked 5th in this indicator with 99 sources.

The UK’s Cable, among 233 countries of the world, included Uzbekistan in a number of states with the most affordable price for mobile Internet. In this ranking, the country has risen to 15th place from 21st place (in the first half of 2021).

In the Inclusive Internet Index, Uzbekistan has risen by five steps, compared to last year, and took 61st place.
