On May 15, delegation of the People’s Republic of China, within the framework of the international conference on “Uzbekistan and China: prospects for joint implementation of the One Belt, One Road” initiative, held a meeting at Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.
At the meeting, information was provided on the history and current activities of the Institute, the state of Chinese studies.
The sides exchanged views on further expansion of cooperation in the field of education between the two countries within the framework of the project “One Belt, One Road”, exchange of students, scientific and technical cooperation. Members of the delegation confirmed their readiness to promote cooperation between a number of higher educational institutions of Shanghai and Tashkent state Institute of Oriental studies.
The guests also got acquainted with activities of the faculty of Chinese studies. They were told about Uzbekistan – China Confucius Institute, operating under Tashkent State Institute of Oriental studies.
The delegation also visited the sights of Tashkent.
