Amendments were introduced to the procedure for collection and distribution of state duties, fees and other non-tax payments in foreign currency, as well as the procedure for stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Republic of Uzbekistan by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of May 29, 2018 No.398 “On introducing amendments and addenda to certain decisions, as well as recognition the decision of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan invalid”. This was reported by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.
In particular, foreign citizens and stateless persons for a temporary residence permit up to 30 days now pay on the basis of arrival days in Uzbekistan at a rate of 2% of the minimum wage for one day (3.444,8 UZS). Previously, they paid $20 for a temporary residence permit (160.516,6 thousand UZS at the rate of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan of May 15, 2018) regardless of length of stay in the country. These amendments will save money of a tourist.
The amendments also apply to citizens of the CIS member states. For a temporary residence permit up to 30 days, now they will also pay 3.444,8 UZS for one day. Prior to that, they paid $5 (40.129,15 thousand UZS from three to 6 months) regardless of the length of stay.
