The list of chess players who will participate in the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Weissenhaus, to be held in Germany from February 7 to February 14, has been approved.
Magnus Carlsen, Gukesh, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Alireza Firouzja, Levon Aronian, Vincent Keymer, and Viswanathan Anand were scheduled to participate in the tournament. However, on January 19, the organizing committee of the tournament announced that Javokhir Sindorov from Uzbekistan would compete in the tournament instead of Viswanathan Anand.
The total prize fund of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour 2025 is $750 thousand.
