This media tour arranged with support from the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston jointly with the Qoraqalpoghiston information agency and the Qoraqalpoghiston department of the creative union of journalists of Uzbekistan helps to promote historical sightseeing attractions of the Aral Sea region and to attract foreign tourists to this region.
This media tour was conducted in accordance with a Presidential decree dated 2 December 2016 “On measures to ensure the rapid development of the tourism sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The event started with a visit to the Shilpyk ancient fortress. Journalists also visited the state bioreserve of the lower Amudarya.
For this bioreserve, 68,717.8 hectares of land of Beruniy and Amudarya Regions was allocated. Of these 11 thousand 568 hectares are the area of the nature reserve, and 6 thousand 731 hectares are a buffer zone.
Today the bioreserve is populated by 826 Bukhara deer. And in the water reservoirs of the bioreserve, there are 43 species of fish.
Special attention is paid to the development of eco-tourism. And walking tours have been arranged to 6 areas.
Participants in the media tour have also seen ostriches being raised in the “Buston straus” farm in the Navoiy steppe village of Ellikqala District.
“These African birds have quickly adapted to our climate,” says the chief of the farm, Hamdam Saidabdullayev.
In the Amir Temur bоtanical garden located in the district centre, 200 types of trees, about 200 types of shrubs and more than 80 types of various flowers grow. Participants in the media tour familiarized themselves with work being done in the garden. Then they visited the Ayozqala architectural complex.
