The Central Council of People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (PDP of Uzbekistan) held a meeting with the leadership of the party experts Needs Assessment Mission Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE ODIHR), reports the press office of the party.
The event was organized under the program of staying mission of Needs Assessment in Uzbekistan. Its purpose is to review the electoral environment and the preparations for the elections to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, regional, district and city councils of people’s deputies.
During the meeting, the delegation of the OSCE ODIHR was informed of the priorities of the NDP in Uzbekistan, the implementation of its program objectives in the center and on the ground.
The parties discussed the innovations in the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan, adopted after the 2009 elections, exchanged views on the specifics of the institutional and ideological participation PDP Uzbekistan in the forthcoming elections, as well as other issues.
