Students Glorify the Native Uzbekistan The final round of the national show contest “You Are the One, the Sacred Motherland!” among higher education institutions has taken place at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

The First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan F.Rizaev, chairman of the contest jury – deputy chairman of the Union of Composers of Uzbekistan H.Rahimov and others noted that a priority significance is being attached under the leadership of President Islam Karimov to boosting the moral qualities of the younger generation and upbringing them as individuals inferior to no one in anything.

The national show contest “You Are the One, the Sacred Motherland!” traditionally held at the initiative of the head of our state, serves such noble ends as glorification of the native Uzbekistan, encouragement of the creation of artistically mature songs deep in meaning and permeated with a sense of devotion to the Motherland and involvement in her fate.

These days, the competition is underway within the system of ministries and government agencies as well as public associations. The final round of the contest among education institutions of the system of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education has also taken place in a festive mood. In excess of 12 thousand students comprising more than 405 teams of higher education institutions took energetic part in the qualifying rounds of the challenge. Especially noteworthy is the fact that creative teams of higher education institutions have been earning prize winning places in the national round of the contest every year.

“Our choral team “Ziyo Sadolari” [Melodies of Enlightenment] has performed with a song “Mustaqil Vatan” [Independence Motherland],” says Nuriddin Haidarov, student of the pedagogical faculty at the Karshi State University. “This competition allows us to express our infinite love and dedication to the Motherland in the song.

Songs glorifying our native land, its picturesque nature and the remarkable achievements made in independence years have sounded at the contest.

The “Guldasta” [Bouquet] band of the Alisher Navoi Samarkand State University, with their song “Uktam Diyorim” [My Elegant Land], and the student team “Ziyo Sadolari” of Karshi State University, for their song “Mustaqil Vatan” have been named best. These two teams are to take part in the nationwide round of the music festival.
