The regular issue published in the New York weekly newspaper The Bukharian Times published an article under such heading which is dedicated to the 24th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence. The article notes that on the occasion of significant date in the center of Bukhara Jews held a gala evening, which was organized by the Union of Bukharian Jewish writers, poets and journalists, with the assistance of the Congress of Bukharian Jews of the United States and Canada, the Fund “Tashkent” Kaikov and television media.
The publication reported that the opening gala evening, the chairman of the Union of Rafael Nektalov said that the community of Bukharan Jews in the first year of the US celebrates Independence Day of Uzbekistan.
As reported by The Bukharian Times, according to the program were presented to two films, “If you’re right” and “Tashkent – motherland of TV”, and colorfully illustrated magazine “Art of Uzbekistan”.
Note that the newspaper published since 2002 in English, Russian and Hebrew. Its main readers are intellectuals in New York. The newspaper highlights the most vivid political, socio-cultural events in the United States, Israel and the Central Asian states.
