Uzbek youth discusses global issues

A conference Model of the United Nations was held at the Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) on 22-23 February 2014.

The conference was held by the UN Model Club at the WIUT at the support of the UN Information Center and is directed at developing discussion of international relations and global policy among students of Uzbekistan.

During the event, the students as envoys at the UN and other global leaders considered actual global issues on developing humanity, including protecting children from diseases, promoting gender equality and economic opportunities of women, fighting terrorism, etc.

Over 100 students from Uzbekistan – Uzbek State World Languages University, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, National University of Uzbekistan, Navoi pedagogic university, branch of Singapore Management Development Institute and others.

Ambassadors of the UK and the US, UN Permanent Coordinator in Uzbekistan and other guests participated at the event.
