On August 31, a festive event timed to the twenty-ninth anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at Kuksaroy complex.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated people on the national holiday.
“No matter how troubling and harsh times we had to go through, no matter what success and results we achieved, the idea of independence and the spirit of freedom have always been a solid support for us. And today we have the right to proudly declare that we have overcome all trials with dignity thanks to the foresight, solidarity and selfless labor of our people. Undoubtedly, the Independence Day, which has revived our dignity, pride and honor, the national statehood, which has returned our sacred religion to us, will forever remain the brightest page in the glorious history of our Motherland”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that in recent years the foundation of a new era – the Third Renaissance – has been laid in Uzbekistan.
“The public, our people themselves become the initiator and creator of all positive changes”, the President noted.
The coronavirus pandemic and the global economic crisis, natural disasters and man-made disasters in Bukhara and Syrdarya regions have become a serious challenge for us. In today’s difficult situation, two important tasks are being solved at once: solving the problems of protecting the health and life of the population and restoring the economy, creating conditions for people to work and earn money.
“No one should forget: no matter how difficult it is, no matter how much money and effort is required, not a single citizen of Uzbekistan will be left to fend for themselves”, the Head of the state said.
Despite the lockdown restrictions, the work on development of industry and agriculture, the creation of modern production facilities continues. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of exports amounted to $9 billion. This year, projects worth $11 billion will be implemented in the country in the industrial sector alone. The President touched upon the results of reforms in entrepreneurship, science and the judicial-legal sphere.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and other organizations for supporting joint programs and projects, as well as assistance in mitigating the consequences of the pandemic. The President wished peace, wellbeing and prosperity to people of all countries and partners, congratulating Uzbekistan on the Independence Day these days.
“I believe in wisdom and determination of our people, who are characterized by remarkable human qualities, steadfastness and solidarity, real courage, which are especially clearly manifested in these difficult days. With a feeling of filial love and devotion, I bow low to our noble, heroic people”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Independence Day celebrations are being held in a narrow format, online. The ceremony at Kuksaroy was broadcast on television.
