“New Uzbekistan – New Elections”: People voted for the development of the country, a comfortable life

Elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Local Councils of People’s Deputies were held on December 22.
For the first time, the Unified Electronic Voter List and the Electoral Management Information System have been applied nationwide. The main goal of this was to take into account the number of voters, their distribution by polling stations, and polling stations – by electoral districts in automatic mode, the practical implementation of the principle “One voter – one vote”.
In the current elections, for the first time, voting for the blind was organized at each polling station using ballots in Braille, which ensured the active and equal participation of citizens in the electoral process.
Elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Local Councils of People’s Deputies ended in the country at 20.00.
According to preliminary information provided by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission M. Abdusalomov, 13 million 355 thousand 911 voters out of 18 million 797 thousand 810 voters in Uzbekistan took part in the elections. This is 71.1 percent of the total number of voters included in the Unified Electronic Voter List.

Based on this, the election of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Local Councils of People’s Deputies can be considered valid.
The voting process was widely covered by 1155 accredited local and foreign media representatives. The election was monitored by hundreds of international observers from 10 international organizations and 50 countries.
