Shavkat Mirziyoyev to be awarded with the Honorary Golden Badge “For Services to the Trade Union Movement”

Tashkent hosted a meeting of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Trade Unions.
The meeting was attended by the leadership and senior officials of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, heads of republican councils of sectoral trade unions and regional associations of trade union organizations, as well as the leadership and members of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Trade Unions, trade unions of Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries.
The average amount spent per employee for implementation of social protection measures defined in collective agreements is 2.9 million UZS in Uzbekistan. Issues of decent wages, creating safe working conditions, protecting the health of workers are always in the center of attention of trade unions.
Participants of the meeting were thoroughly acquainted with the main activities of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan. In particular, attention was paid to activities carried out by the Federation on strengthening social protection of workers of enterprises, organizations and institutions, their family members, strengthening social partnership in labor.
At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Trade Unions, a proposal was introduced on awarding the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the honorary golden badge of the General Confederation of Trade Unions “For Services to the Trade Union Movement” for significant personal contribution to ensuring the socio-economic interests of working people of the Republic of Uzbekistan, strengthening social partnership at the national level, increasing the authority of trade unions of Uzbekistan. This proposal was unanimously supported and accepted.
The issue of admission of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan to the membership in the General Confederation of Trade Unions was also considered at the meeting. The proposal was unanimously supported, and the Federation was officially accepted by the General Confederation of Trade Unions.
