A meeting of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism was held.
Information of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of interested ministries on implementation of priority measures for development of tourism for 2018-2019, approved by relevant resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was heard.
According to the Acting First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Ulugbek Kasimkhojayev, certain work is being implemented on development of international cooperation, ensuring unimpeded entry into Uzbekistan.
The draft Concept for Tourism Development until 2025 reflects a number of problems related to logistics, infrastructure, lack of hotel rooms, introduction of information-communication technologies, increase in the potential of tourism industry personnel.
One of the current problems is the lack of personnel. As noted, this is due to the lack of a multi-level system of continuous education in the field of tourism, the use of outdated curricula and programs, an insufficient level of introduction of innovative technologies in the educational process.
At the event, participants forwarded specific proposals on the considered issues, expressed their opinion. Following the discussion, relevant decisions were taken.
