III Asian Para Games kicks off in the Indonesian city of Jakarta.
About 3 thousand Paralympians from 43 Asian countries are participating in championships in 18 sports. Uzbekistan national team is participating in the Asian Para Games for the first time with 54 athletes who will represent the country in such sports, as powerlifting, judo, shooting, swimming and athletics.
The first day of championships became successful for Uzbekistan athletes.
In men’s freestyle swimming in S13 classification, Dmitry Horlin finished first in 400m freestyle and won a gold medal. Another athlete from Uzbekistan Islam Aslanov became a silver medalist.
In women’s championships, Shokhsanam Toshpulatova won a gold medal. While Fotima Amilova got silver.
