Rafael Nektalov: Congress of Bukharian Jews of the USA and Canada welcomes the visit of President of Uzbekistan to the USA

The editor-in-chief of the New York weekly “Bukharian Times” is working on preparing a special issue on the occasion of the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the United States.

As the coordinator of the Congress of the Bukharian Jews of the USA and Canada Rafael Nektalov told to the journalists of the “Uzbekistan Today” news agency, despite the distance, many immigrants from Uzbekistan today feel with special acuity their native land. “Over the years, I’ve been in Uzbekistan more than 20 times, and many asked me a question: why are we here in the United States dealing with issues related to Uzbekistan? Our native people, our memory, history, friends remained on the land of Uzbekistan. And today our main duty is to preserve the tonality of kindness, friendship and brotherhood between different peoples inhabiting modern Uzbekistan, to support the peaceful policy of the country,” R. Nektalov said.

The priority task of the community of Bukharian Jews in the USA and Canada, as well as the publishing Russian-Uzbek-Tajik weekly, is the establishment of friendly relations between countries. “We always strive for the establishment of warm, friendly relations between Uzbekistan and the country in which we now live – America. And “people’s diplomacy” in this matter is not just a beautiful phrase, but a working mechanism. One of our first priorities was the task of broadly covering the local population with information on constructive innovations and transformations being conducted in Uzbekistan by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. And today we continue to work with the Uzbek-American public, with senators and congressmen, with ordinary people, so that in America they are aware of the new Uzbekistan. That is why we decided to create a special issue of our newspaper, timed to coincide with the official visit of the head of Uzbekistan.
