An expanded meeting of the Parliamentary Commission for Managing the Funds of the Public Fund to Support Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations and Other Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Geology and Mineral Resources.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission A.Saidov and others noted that the Action Strategy on five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, as in all spheres, is of great importance in supporting non-state non-profit organizations and other institutions, radical reforming activities of civil society institutions.
In 2018, implementation of 11 social projects worth 3 billion soums is envisaged, 2.75 billion soums will be allocated to support grant projects of about 100 non-governmental non-profit organizations, mass media and other civil society institutions.
Participants received detailed information on activities being carried out in the sphere of improving environmental legislation, protecting the environment and public health, rational use of natural resources, improving the ecological culture of the population, providing the population with clean drinking water from the submitted report on the results of activities of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan in 2017.
