On March 30, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Jizzakh region to become familiarized with landscaping and construction activities, the process of ongoing reforms, implementation of major projects and holding dialogue with people.
It should be noted that construction of an oil refinery in Zafarabad district, the foundation of which was laid by the Head of the state, is of great importance not only for the country’s economy, but also for the entire Central Asian region. Currently, construction of an enterprise with a project cost of $2.2 billion is being conducted at an accelerated pace. Uzbekistan Peugeot Citroen Automotive plant, which was recently commissioned in Jizzakh free economic zone with participation of foreign investments, the recently launched Ming Yuan Sily Industry LLC on production of glass products, SILK EXPERT Prоcessing Uzbek-British joint venture on cultivation and processing of cocoons will promote the further increase of the country’s economy.
Similar projects are also being implemented in remote areas due to attention paid to the integrated development of the regions. Among them – LLC Leigh Barrier LLP for production of composite reinforcement, built together with the British company in the village of Egizbulak in Farish district, Marjon global plant for processing medicinal herbs in Gallaaral district, and Zamin-pharm enterprise in Zaamin district are important in development of the region’s economy, providing rural residents with work.
As a result of consistent development of light industry in the region, 40 percent of grown cotton is processed at local enterprises.
In accordance with “Obod qishloq” (Prosperous village) program, the village of Manas in Dustlik district has become an exemplary village, decent living conditions have been created for local residents.
The program of the trip of the President of Uzbekistan to Jizzakh region also includes familiarization with implementation of a number of projects aimed at further development of the region, the execution of tasks that were given during the previous visit, the needs and requirements of the population.
