President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Kokand City Theater during his trip to Fergana region on June 22-23, 2017 and gave instructions on supporting creative workers, building a separate multi-storey residential building for them, strengthening the theater’s material and technical base. Activity that has been carried out here over the past period raises a sense of satisfaction.
Kokand has been known since ancient times as a center of culture and enlightenment. At present, the activity carried out in this direction is filled with new content. In particular, Fergana regional branch of Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture has been opened, where 24 students are currently studying in “Art of acting (musical theater actor)” direction. All necessary conditions have been created for young artists.
A complex, which included Kokand City Music and Drama Theater, the Museum of Great Thinkers, a house for theater, art and culture workers was built in a short time.
Building of the theater has been completely reconstructed. Actors and directors have all the amenities for working, resting and rehearsals. All this inspires the creative team for achieving new creative success.
The Museum of Great Thinkers is the center of demonstration of the national values, wealth of the national spirituality. The scientific concept of the museum has been revised, on the basis of which a plan for the thematic exposition has been developed.
