Khakim at-Termizi mausoleum is a favorite place for tourists

The great scholar Khakim at-Termizi was famous for his deep knowledge both in religious and secular sciences. He wrote more than 400 works and only 50 of them were delivered to us. The most famous work among them is “Navruzname”.

The mausoleum of our great ancestor, located on the banks of Amydarya river has become one of the most well-maintained and beautiful places of the region during the independence years. The number of domestic and foreign tourists, visiting this shrine is growing every year. According to the Executive Director of the complex Abduraim Choriev, last year this complex was visited by more than 600 thousand domestic and about 1000 foreign tourists.

The Head of our state during his visit to Surkhandarya region last year gave instructions on further improvement of the complex, creating more conveniences for pilgrims.Particularly, the need for restoration of mausoleum’s interior using Surkhandarya ornament and design elements of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi complex in Bukhara and the Minor mosque in Tashkent was emphasized.
