Three multi-storey modern apartment houses consisting of 54 apartments have been put into use in Karshi. These apartments are for military servicemen’s families.
An event has been held on this occasion, attended by representatives of state and non-governmental establishments, military servicemen and their family members and members of the “Yosh cheragarachilar [young border guards]” military patriotic club of vocational colleges.
The commander of the south-western special military district, Colonel R.Halilov, and others said that the country’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave special attention to providing housing for military servicemen and to improving their living and working conditions.
“I am proud that my son has chosen the honourable profession of Motherland defenders. I am also glad that today my son is being provided with modern housing. In this beautiful apartment, all the necessary conditions have been created for my grandchildren. There are a school and a kindergarten nearby,” says Egamberdi Nazarov, the father of sergeant Nodirbek Nazarov of Qashqadaryo Region.
It should be said that such apartments are being provided on the basis of a long-term preferential credit to military servicemen who need housing and who have served at least five years. Most importantly, 25 per cent of the price of the housing was transferred by the Ministry of Defence of Uzbekistan.
“I have served in the military sphere for 15 years already. I have two children. Until now we lived in a rented apartment. Today I was provided with a two-room apartment. We are very glad,” says sergeant Ibrohim Sodiqov of Namangan.
Improvement work has been carried out in areas around the new apartment houses, and fruit trees and decorative trees were planted. Playgrounds have been created there.
A concert by a military orchestra and well-known artistes gave people there festive cheer.
The hokim (governor) of Qashqadaryo Region, Z.Ruziyev, made a speech at the event.
