The Institute of Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the head of the EU Delegation in Uzbekistan, Eduards Stiprais.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for further development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and EU countries, as well as current regional and international issues.
According to E. Stiprais, the initiative of the leadership of Uzbekistan on cardinal transformation of the key spheres of the state’s vital activity was received with great enthusiasm in the European Union. It is noted that they welcome ongoing reforms in the sphere of public administration in Brussels. The introduction of virtual reception system has become a parallel effective mechanism for responding to citizens’ appeals, allowing the authorities to maintain a direct dialogue with the people.
E. Stiprais stressed that the foreign policy course chosen by Tashkent opens new prospects for cooperation with many leading regions of the world, including Europe. Today, the EU is particularly interested in deepening partnership with Uzbekistan in the field of security.
At the end of the meeting E. Stiprais expressed interest in deepening cooperation with leading analytical centers of Uzbekistan for a more complete and objective understanding of the positions and approaches of Tashkent on topical issues.
