Specialists of the Khorezm region have conducted a presentation on the organization of virtual excursions in history lessons. This is one of many practices told about at the forum which brought together 250 teachers, methodologists, scientists of the regional institutes of retraining and professional development of public education workers, as well as higher education institutions. At the event, there were discussed the issues of quality and effectiveness of teaching social subjects and improving spiritual-educational work.
The forum was carried out in the form of plenary and sectional sessions on the teaching of such social subjects as history, the foundations of the state and law, the foundations of the economy, ethics, the sense of the Motherland, the idea of national independence and the basis of spirituality. Participants analyzed the teaching of humanitarian subjects fully updated by content in the years of independence and studied topical issues in this direction. The methods of organization of substantive lessons on the basics of the state and law with the use of innovative educational technologies, the formation of students’ economic awareness, the principles for effective use of modern pedagogical technologies in the elaboration of students’ historical thinking, studying the subject “The idea of national independence: basic concepts and principles” on the modern basis were also considered.
“The role of social subjects in broadening of the young generation’s outlook and their education in the spirit of devotion to the Motherland is inestimable”, said the head of department at the Republican Education Center Nargiza Ismatova. “Acquaintance of students with national traditions and values which are rich in spiritual heritage of our ancestors, qualitative teaching of these subjects, require high skills, deep knowledge and qualification fr om teachers. The teachers who took part in the forum, demonstrated the best practices gained in improving the quality of education, the proper organization of students’ free time, strengthening ideological immunity among young people, enhancing the interaction of the family, the mahalla and the educational institution.”
“In general schools, the history of our country is taught for 221 hours as a separate subject during the school year”, a history teacher of the secondary school no. 144 of the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent Khusniddin Tojiboyev said. “To date, eight textbooks were published on this subject in seven languages. The themes of the lessons are developed based on the chronology of historical events, according to age, level of knowledge, psychological state and physical development of students. In the lessons of world history, the attention is also placed on the impact of our rich spiritual and scientific heritage on the advancement of world science and education. At the forum which became a platform for teachers to summarize, exchange of best practices and opinions, we received new recommendations on teaching the history. We got acquainted with additional literature on the saturation of lessons contents and leveled up the knowledge on the effective use of multimedia.”
As part of the event, a master class was organized in the secondary school no. 9 in the Yunusabad district of the capital wh ere the participants exchanged views and experiences.
