Perfecting the healthcare system, ensuring citizens’ access to qualitative medical care are the most significant directions of government policy in Uzbekistan.
Taking into account the special importance and topicality of these issues, the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis actively joined in the establishment of effective parliamentary control over the process of qualitative advancement of the state of medical sphere.
At the regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber, the activities of the Republican Specialized Surgery Center named after Academician V.Vakhidov and the Republican Specialized Urology Center were discussed.
In their speeches, the deputies attached attention to a number of facts related to the improper performance of legislative requirements by medical institutions and the inert fulfillment of tasks determined by the President of the country. Also they raised the issues associated with the inaccessibility of services due to their high cost and lack of branches in regions. In this plan, it was noted that every specialized medical center should have its own program for the development of its missions in regions of the republic, establishing close ties with the world’s leading medical centers, improving the system of training highly qualified personnel in the areas of centers’ specialization.
