The Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan has organized roundtable discussions in the cities and regions of the country to address issues of improving the efficiency of social and labor protection, employment of population and college graduates, creating new jobs, further advancement of the social sphere.
Identified problems of local level in the course of events were solved on-the-spot, the issues to be solved at the republican level were submitted to the ministries and departments. Their discussion was carried out in Tashkent with the participation of deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, representatives of ministries and departments.
As noted in speeches, concrete steps were taken to further improve labor relations, protection of rights and legitimate interests of citizens in social and labor sphere, close cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO) is carried out in this area in our country. In practice, it is demonstrated the effectiveness of implemented strong social policy, the solution of social and labor issues.
A solid legal framework is formed for the creation of decent working conditions for our people, on the basis of which the rights of citizens to work, to work in favorable conditions, free choice of profession are fully guaranteed, a strong system of state and public control acts, an effective social dialogue and social partnership for compliance with social and labor principles between government, unions and employers is established.
During the event it was emphasized, in particular, that legally enshrined norms which were outlined in the adopted in 2016 Laws “On Labor Protection” in new edition, “On Amendments to the Law “On trade unions, their rights and guarantees of their activities” and others, became an important guide to action. It was particularly noted the importance of an annual program aimed at creating jobs and ensuring employment of the population. Since 2015, approaches to the creation of permanent jobs have been significantly changed during the development of the program, the situation and labor market needs of the territories, industries and professions of people looking for work have been initially studied.
At the same time, growing focus on the creation of decent work in our country requires to further evolve social partnership in the workplace. To this end, the event participants identified a number of joint actions on the basis of social partnership for further work on labor safety, certification of new jobs, insurance of civil liability of employers, ensuring labor guarantees for private sector workers, temporarily employed people, college graduates.
