The International Tennis Tournament “Tashkent Challenger-2016” that is part of the tennis tournaments of theAssociation of Tennis Professionals (ATP) started on the courts of the Republican Tennis School of Olympic Reserve.
The singles and doubles competitions of the prestigious tournament are attended by representatives of about 20 countries.
As a result of the attention given by the leadership of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to the development of sport, in particular tennis, in all regions of our country have been built modern tennis courts and were created opportunities for youth engagement in this sport.
Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan jointly with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and International Tennis Federation (ITF) regularly organize international competitions for men, women and children.
This year, the tournament is attended by the top in the world ranking tennis players as Jiri Vesely from the Czech Republic, Jeremy Chardy from France, Ricardas Berankis from Lithuania, Evgeny Donskoy and Konstantin Kravchuk from Russia, last year’s tournament finalist Lukas Lacko.
Denis Istomin, Sanjar Fayziev, Jurabek Karimov and Humoyun Sultonov defend the honor of our Motherland in the tournament.
