The Ministry of Higher and Special Secondary Education has announced a contest on the selection of contenders for winning the State scholarships of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State scholarships named after Beruniy, ibn Sino, Ulughbek and al-Bukhoriy.
To win the State scholarships of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan the contenders will have to be met the following criteria: combine general educational training with conducting scientific-research (creative) activities; take part at the conferences (competitions) by disciplines; publish not less than two research papers (works); knowledge of Uzbekistan’s history. A contender should know languages – the official language and one foreign language (apart from official languages of the Commonwealth of Independent States), and in certain cases, when one’s direction in bachelor’s or major in master’s degree is a foreign language, additional knowledge of still another foreign language is required.
Contenders undergo special test trials at the State Testing Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (by regions) for assessing the level of their knowledge.
Contenders for winning the State scholarships undergo special interview at language chairs at the place of their study to assess the level of their language skills.
